Introduction to the game:

Since this game is based on the emergency services of Germany some things in the game you might find unfamiliar or unusual. Please keep in mind that the game itself is constantly evolving, so everything in this document is subject co change.
Currently there are 5 different types of buildings available in the game. The following will provide a short description for each of the building types as well as the vehicles available:

Fire Stations

The Fire Station is just what it sounds like it is. This building will enable you to house and produce vehicles for the fire service. In Fire911.net these vehicles will resemble that of emergency of Germany. As you become more experienced with the game will be able to upgrade this building so that it may house multiple vehicles as well as enable you to purchase other vehicle types.

Here are the vehicles which are currently available:
LF 8/6: This is a small Engine often used by smaller VFDs. standard crew is 9.
LF 10/6: A slightly larger Engine, standard crew is also 9.
LF 16-TS: Compares to a Pumper, again with a 9-Person crew.
All other FD-vehicles operate with a 3-person crew:
DLK 23/12: your basic Ladder.
ELW 1: small (van sized) Mobile Command Center.
RW 1: Rescue (small version)

Police stations

In Germany there are only state and federal Police units, therefore you will not have to consider any differences between PD, SD and State Troopers.

In Germany there are only state and federal Police units, therefore you will not have to consider any jurisdictional differences between PD, SD and State Troopers.

Currently there is only one type of vehicle available in this game:
Streifenwagen. This is a standard uniformed Patrol Unit.

When staffing your police stations keep in mind that unlike in many parts of the US all Patrol Units in Germany consist of 2 officers. In this game Patrol Units will respond with only 1 officer if not enough personnel is available, but will be much less effective. (Note: while the Federal Police as well as 14 german states are using the blue/silver or blue/white design as shown in the game the states of Saarland and Bavaria continue to use the more traditional green/whit or green/silver design. Example: http://bos-fahrzeuge.info/einsatzfahrzeu...ng_-_FuStW )

Hospitals

All hospitals in this game operate as Trauma Centers. You will have to build 1 hospital before you can build any ambulance stations.
Vehicles:
Medic Helicopter

Ambulance stations

There are some significant differences in emergency medical response between the US an Germany, largely because an Emergency Response Physician (Notarzt) is dispatched to the scene of any severe medical emergency. Since those are fully trained Md's patients will typically receive a significantly larger amount of on-scene treatment than in the US, and -with some exception- a quick transport to a hospital is considered secondary to stabilizing the patient. Because of this Ambulances may remain at the scene of an incident for what may appear to be an unusually long period of time.
In this game all currently all calls that require EMS-response only are handled as on-scene treatment, while injured person occurring with fire dept.- or THW-missions are handled as priority transports.
There is a wide variety of ambulances and other vehicles available for German rescue squads, in this game however there is currently only two:
RTW: This is an Emergency Ambulance which, even though an emergency response physician is not permanently on board, is designed and intended to work in close conjunction with one, who would be dispatched with a separate vehicle (NEF). Standard crew is 2.
NEF: Emergency response physician

THW-Stations

The THW is an organization which in this form is unique to Germany and therefore might be very unfamiliar to players from other countries. Basically it is a federal disaster response unit equipped for heavy technical rescue and recovery operations, amongst others. Unlike the National Guard in the US it is not a military or paramilitary unit, and rather than being staged in large centralized depots it is organized in a large number of local (or regional) groups. The THW is almost completely staffed by volunteers. Although primarily intended for disaster response the THW can (an frequently does) respond to lower-level emergencies, often to assist other emergency response agencies (i.e. fire dept.); a formal declaration of a state of emergency or any similar measure is not required to deploy THW-Units, they are generally dispatched by the regional 112-operators.

The THW does operate a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. In this game currently 4 different types are available:

Kran a typical Crane.
GKW (I) – The standard Technical Rescue vehicle operated by the THW. (Though in the game it is depicted as a rather small truck with a 3-men crew in reality these vehicles are typically the size of a fire engine and carry a 9 (or in some cases 7) person crew.)
Arbeitsbühne – Platform (or bucket truck)
Bagger - Excavator

This is a temporary version of the wiki while it is down

RE: Instructions
Vehicles
Fire Service Vehicles

LF 8/6
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Engine
Crew: 9
Cost: 35000 Credits
Description

The Löschgruppenfahrzeug 8/6 is a small engine with a 800l/min pump and a 600l water tank which is commonly used by smaller fire departements.
It carries all equipment neccessary to fight fires, and may also carry some equipment for technical assistance.
Role in the game

In this game the LF 8/6 is a cheaper, but less effective alternative to the LF 10/6.
For beginners this vehicle can be usefull a a second or third engine, but as you progress in the game you should replace it with more effective ones.
Remarks

The LF 8/6 does no longer comply with the current german standarts for fire engines; though existing vehicles of this type will remain in service, there will be no new ones purchased.

LF 10/6
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Engine
Crew: 9
Cost: 40000 Credits
Description

The Löschgruppenfahrzeug 10/6 is an engine with a 1000l/min pump and a 600l water tank.
It carries all the equipment neccessary to fight fires as well as equipment for technical assitance and small technical rescue calls.
Role in the game

In this game the LF 10/6 ist the standart engine and your all-around responder.
Remarks

The LF 10/6 is the smallest fire engine recognized by current german standards.

LF 16-TS
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Pumper
Crew: 9
Cost: 37000 Credits
Description

The Löschgruppenfahrzeug 16 mit Tragkraftspritze is a pumper which besides a build-in pump with a capacity of at least 1600l/min (often 2000 or 2400l/min) has an additional portable pump. It does, however, not have a water-tank
Although its standard crew concists of 1 group (of 9) it carries equipment for 2 groups.
In larger scenarios this type of vehicle is generally used to secure the water supply.

Role in the game

This should be your scondary fire-fighting-apparatus.
Though less effective than the LF 10/6 on most types of calls there are some scenarios in which a LF 16-TS will increase the effeciveness of other LF.
Remarks

The LF 16-TS has been the standard firefighthing vehicle for disaster-protection purposes in Germany for decades. (This standard has recently been changed to a new type called LF-KatS.) Because of this there is a large number of this type of vehicle in service, and many of them are owned by the federal gouvernment, but operated by local fire departments.

DLK 23/12
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Ladder truck
Crew: 3
Cost: 45000 Credits
Description

The Drehleiter mit Korb 23/12 is a turnable ladder with a usable height of 23 meters at an (sideward) extension of 12 meters.
Role in the game

In the game this vehilce plays a major support-role on all larger structure-fires.
As soon as you have 3 fire stations you will get some missions that you cannot complete without a DLK 23/12.
Remarks

-
ELW 1
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Mobile Command Center
Crew: 3
Cost: 40000 Credits
Description

The Einsatzleitwagen 1 ist the small, van-sized version of a mobile command center, used to establish the fire departments field command for mid-sized events.
Role in the game

Currently this is the only type of mobile command center in the game.
It reduces the on-scene-time on almost all fire department missions that require more than 2 LF. As soon as you have 4 fire stations you will get calls that may require this vehicle.
Remarks

Some fire departments use similar sized MZF (Mehrzweckfahrzeug, "multi purpose vehicle") to double as ELW 1 and as personell carrier (MTW).

RW 1
Quick Facts

Station: Fire
Type: Rescue truck
Crew: 3
Cost: 46780 Credits
Description

The Rüstwagen 1 carries the equipment neccessary for medium-scale technical rescue operations.

Role in the game

At current this vehicle only has support-roles in the game.
As soon as you have 5 fire stations you will get missions that require a RW 1 or, alternatively, a GKW.
Remarks

The RW 1 ist smaller than the standard RW (also refered to as RW 2) and is mostly used by smaller to mid-sized fire departments.

Police Vehicles

Streifenwagen
Quick Facts

Station: Police
Type: Patrol Unit
Crew: 2
Cost: 20000 Credits (blue)
or 60 Coins (green)
Description

A Streifenwagen (STW), also called Funkstreifenwagen (FSW, FuStW) is a standart uniformed patrol unit as it is used by the german police.
Typically they are sedans or station wagons, and there is a wide variety of makes and models, such as Audi, BMW, VW and others in use.
Generally these vehicles are not quite as large and heavy as an american police cruiser.
Role in the game

In this game they are the primary responders to all police calls and have a support role in many other missions.
Remarks

14 german states and the Federal Police use the blue design, only the states of Saarland and Bavaria still use the green one.
In this game there is no difference in performance between the blue and green patrol cars.

EMS Vehicles

RTW
Quick Facts

Station: Ambulance
Type: Emergency Ambulance
Crew: 2
Cost: 25000 Credits
Description

A Rettungswagen is an emergency ambulance that is equiped and intented to work togehter with an emergency field response physician (Notarzt) who would be dispatched with a sperate vehicle. Due to the presence of a M.D. patients in germany typically receive significantly more on-scene treatment than in the US, and a quick transport to the hospital is not the priority.
However, these vehicles are also capable to quickly transport patients under critical conditions when neccessary (e.g. certain types of servere injuries or conditions that requre an immediate surgical intervention).
Role in the game

Currently the RTW is the only medical responder in this game.
As soon as you build an amulance station you will rceive calls that will be handled by the RTWs alone (on-scene treatment).
Additionally, as soon as you have 4 fire- or police stations or 3 THW-stations there will be calls with injured persons. In those cases the RTWs are used for a quick transprt to a hospital.

Remarks

A Version called S-RTW (Schwerlastrettungswagen) of this vehicle is availaibe in most german states to accomodate patients who weigh more than 200kg (440) lbs.

NEF
Quick Facts

Station: EMS
Type: Emergency field response physicians vehicle
Crew: 2
Cost: 40k

Description

The sole purpose of the Notarzteinsatzfahrzeug is to get the emergency field respons physician and his/her personal equipment to the scene quickly.
In some cases, especially in rural areas where the vehicle may be stationed at the phycisians home, the MD is the only crewmember. In most cases, the crew consists of the MD and a driver, so the vehicle does not have to be left behind if the physician has to ride with the patient in the RTW.
Role in the game

Coming soon.
Remarks

THW Vehicles

Kran
Quick Facts

Station: THW
Type: Crane
Crew: 3
Cost: 50000 Credits
Description

A typical truck-monted crane.
Role in the game

In this game the Crane will be your first THW-vehicle. Therefore there are some calls that can be handled by cranes alone.
Cranes also have a support-role in the larger THW-missions as well as in some fire dept. missions.
Remarks

-

GKW
Quick Facts

Station: THW
Type: Technical Rescue
Crew: 3 (in this game only)
Cost: 46750 Credits
Description

The Gerätekraftwagen I is the THW's standard technical rescue vehicle, and typically the first responding THW-unit.
In reality it is a much larger truck than depicted in the game (example-picture GKW I w/ trailer), carrying a 9- (or in some roles 7-) member crew; at lest 5 crewmebers have to be SCBA-certified and at least 4 have to have profesional qualifications in a construction-related or mechanical field.
The GKW I es equiped for technical rescue and technical assitance calls, as well as to support fire depts. in cases of larger fires. Usually there is a 7-ton trailer available for thgis vehicle to carry additional equeppment if necceassary.
Role in the game

In this game there are some larger-scale mission that require GKW's on scene.
It can also take the place of a RW 1 in many fire-dept. missions.
You will need this vehicle as soon as you have 2 THW-stations.

Remarks

Unlike with most other german emergency vehicles the number "I" after the abrevation "GKW" does not designate the size of the vehicle, but rather its attachment to the 1st Rescue-/Recovery-Group. (The vehicle used by the 2nd Recovery Group was accoringly called "GKW II", but is currently replaced by another type (MzKW).)

Arbeitsbühne
Quick Facts

Station: THW
Type: Work Platform
Crew: 3
Cost: 45000 Credits
Description

A "bucket-truck"-type work plattform.
Role in the game

Currently this vehicle only has a support-role in this game.
However, as soon as you have 3 THW-stations you will get calls that may require this type of vehicle.
Remarks

Bagger
Quick Facts

Station: THW
Type: Excavator
Crew: 3
Cost: 100000 Credits
Description

A tracked excavator that is used to move large amounts of debris as well as for all kinds of earthwork.
It is transported to the scene of an incident by a flatbed-truck.
Role in the game

The excavator is required to complete some larger-scale missions.
As soon as you have 4 THW-Stations you will get calls that require this device.
